Oct. 27
THREE MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND HAMBURG DAY TODAY!!!!!!!! So, I took a train to Neumünster, and David got on in Einfeld, and we met McKenna and Pedro in Neumünster. Then we ran through the wall between platforms 9 and 10 and got onto platform 9 3/4. The we got onto the Hogwarts Express, where we were suppossed to meet Urvashi. But the train was huge, so we couldn't find her! Don't worry, she found us eventually. But as we were looking for her, we found all the other exchange students! After we got off the train and were going up the elevator, this girl turned around and said "are you guys Americans?" we said yes, and she said "exchange students?" and we said yes, and she said "I am too!", so we thought she was with Rotary and had missed the first orientation, but we found out later that she was with another organization and was waiting for another exchange student! So, while she was waiting, she hung out with us! Once all the exchange students were at Hamburg, we all got on a bus (all 70-something of us!) and made our way to St. Michaelis Church.

                                                                         Bus Ride!

                                                                        St. Michaelis

Then we went to the top!

Then we got onto the boat to take us to Hogwarts! But something went wrong and we made it to Diagon Alley instead...

Then, as we made our way to go eat, Alec found a leaf bigger than his head!

Then we ate, I went to McDonalds and had a hamburger in Hamburg!!!!!!!
Then we went onto the subway and went to this emmigration museum. Hamburg is the 2nd largest port in Europe, so many emigrants left from Hamburg. The museum was designed so we got to act like emigrants and emigrate to the USA!!!!!! Dont know why I couldn't have just showed my passport...

 Look at us poor emigrants.
McKenna trying to get friendly with the emigration officer...

The hat Bille's wearing is actually mine. So many people came up to me and touched my head today!!!!!

Ok, so I know I haven't posted anything i a while, and that's because I've spent the past three weeks on Fall Break!!!!!!!!!!! We went to Paderborn and visited Ulrike's family, we went to Regensburg, we went to Salzburg, we went to Bayern and visited friends of the Brunkhorsts, and hiked in the Alps, and ice skated, and visited McKenna! and I went to Hamburg and Kiel! And I know you all want to see pictures instead of listen to me ramble, so here they are:
The view from the top of the first peak.
Pretty Flower

Valley that we could see from the first peak.
We hiked to the top of that.

We hiked (more like rock climbed) down that and many others.

                                        We came from there.

I made it! Look! I can barely lift my arms up because I'm so tired.

Valley that we could see from the second peak.

I was so tired that it took effort to lift my feet up!
But I got them up!

Johann's foot.

                      Food!

                                                               We all made it back!

So, Friederike told me that I always take pics without shoes, so here's one with shoes!

The first thing I thought after taking this pic was: "they look like an airplane!"

You can see Salzburg from here!

What a pretty tree!

Ignore the cars, it makes the picture look better.

Mozart Ducks!!!!

This is the only McDonalds with a sign like that.

Mozart's house!

Home of "The Sound of Music"!

My mom and I stayed in a hotel down that alley when we were in Salzburg 9 years ago!

Look familiar?

                                 Sound of Music anybody?

You see the lady on the left? Before I took the pic, she was looking straight ahead, right when I pulled out my camera, she looked down... coincidence? I think not!

Fly pigeon! (I had to google the word "pigeon" to figure out how to spell it) Look at the word and say it a lot, isn't it a funny word?!

Ready... Set...

Jump!

You can see Salzburg from the Thallers' house!

This is a fortress we saw while driving to Bavaria.

So, in the course of these 3 weeks I managed to stubb and tear off the nail of both of my big toes, so they are identically messed up!
