Nov. 11
Shopping on Sunday! It's a miracle! It happens once a year! The only thing I bought was food though. Today was also St. Martin's day, so the little kids put on a play about St. Martin, then walked around the lake with lanterns.
Nov. 14
We baked cookies!!!!!

The heart I made!

Of course the ones that burn are our initials!

Nov. 15
Had my second dance lesson today. Didn't really learn anything new. But I found out that I'm the oldest one there :P After the dance lesson we went to this store for Christmas shopping and it was like rich people shopping! You had to pay 5€ to get in, they had free food and wine being brought to you buy waiters and there was a jacket there for 700€! That's $896.77!

Nov. 16
Today was the coldest day yet! My fingers frooze 5 min into my bike ride! After school, I had tennis and I fell hitting an overhead. It was really funny! Then Friederike and I went to her friend's house and watched the Voice of Germany.

Nov. 17
I met all the American Exchange students in Hamburg to celebrate Thanksgiving!!! We all met at the Hamburg train station, then went to this really pretty park, next to a prison!

The prison

                                            We lit sparklers!

Then we went to eat pizza and got coffee and walked around  Hamburg. Then I got KFC and we rode the train back home!

McKenna and Alex dancing in Hamburg
Nov. 18
I spent the night at McKenna's and we made Schnecken (like cinnamon rolls)! Then we went to my neighbor Lisa's house and dipped the Schnecken, fruit, and crackers into her chocolate fountain! The Schnecken tasted the best! Then we watched How I Met You Mother! In English! So, everybody here keeps asking me if I watch How I Met You Mother and I always say no. But now I know why everyone here watches it! It's really funny!

Nov. 19
Music was cancelled, so for the first time, I was in school for normal school hours! 8-2:30! Then I ate a Döner, went to tennis, and then to Friederike's friend's house because it was her dad's birthday.

We went to a tea shop in Kiel this morning. Then I met 8 other exchange students at the train station. It was me, McKenna, Urvashi, and a bunch of Spanish speakers! We ate döner, then we were going to go to the beach, but we didn't have enough time, so we went shopping, and went to Starbucks!

McKenna with David's Mexican Poncho, Rodrigo's hat from Peru, and her Starbucks coffee!
Trying on the Christmas hats! Got some funny looks...

Andres' 39 chicken nuggets, there was another box underneath this one.

The missing 40th chicken nugget!

After Kiel, David and I went with my host family to a Christmas Market.
I won a round of Doppelkopf (the family card game) for the fist time!

Oct. 28
The Wilkenings (my third host family), Stefanie (my counselor), her daughter, David, Lars (David's counselor) and Heimke (our YEO) came over for cake and coffee today. As the adults were talking, us kids played games. We played the German version of Sorry and Chutes and Ladders. Then we got bored and decided to jump on the trampoline!

The welcome sign Friederike and I made for our guests.

After everyone left, David, Friederike, and I played Life! In German!

The Life tiles were tiny!

 Oct. 31
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!

The people here miss out on so much! Halloween is also Reformation Day for the Lutheren Church, because on Halloween, instead of just knocking on the door to get candy, Martin Luther decided to nail his 95 Theses on the door instead. My counselor is the pastor for the Lutheren Church, so I went to help her today. Every year, the 4th graders of the local elementary school come to the church, and they have stations where the kids do stuff and they learn about Martin Luther. It's a lot like Vacation Bible School, but only for one day, and its all about Martin Luther. Afterwards, I went over to Stefanie's house for lunch and then went home, because it was three o'clock and I didn't feel like going to school. After I got home, my neighbor, Lisa came over and we went trick-or-treating! There weren't many people out, the ones that were out were little kids. Halloween isn't too big here. We were out for about an hour, then we went home because people came over for dinner.

Us when we answered the door at Lisa's house.

We dyed our hair green! and we had capes so we could fly!!
After the make up was all gone.
