I MADE BISCUITS THIS MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was sooooooo proud of myself! They were a bit flat, but they tasted delicious!!!! I made them because everyone here thinks a biscuit is a cookie (stupid British English).

Tennis this morning!!!! Then some people came over for dinner, then i went to my friends' birthday party's. Then i came home and went to bed. Next day!

Aug. 26
Went to Kiel and Molfsee with Jon (an exchange student from Wisconsin)! Unfortunetly it rained and it was Sunday, so there wasnt much to do besides eat. And walk around the mall when all the stores were closed. And visit the church. But after it stopped raining we biked to Molfsee (where Jon lives) and went swimming at the small lake near his house. Why are all the lakes sooooooooo cold here?!?!?! We wernt in for very long because it was so cold, so we went back to Jon's house, ate AMAZING cake, and then played 7 Wonders. I was kinda confused when playing it, but i think i got it. I did win with 94 points though :)

Wrote my first essay in German! It might not look like that much, but Geography is the hardest thing to understand!

Today on the internet an advertisement for a radio station came on and guess what it advertised!!!!!

Schlager means "pop (hit) song" in English! So I see it in stores that sell CDs a lot!!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDSAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Went to Paderborn for Ulrike's cousin's wedding today.

The wedding and reception were exactly like an American wedding except whoever planned the reception, is the most creative person in the world! First we all got little pyramids with our names on them with candy inside and nametags.

There were also sparklers!

Then, there was a different song on everybody's table, and when your song was played, you could go get food!

Then there was dancing, and there were games for the bride and groom. Example: The bride and groom danced and everyone stood in a circle around them and threw balls of yarn over them, to tangle them up. And there were more, but I dont feel like going into detail.

So I left Charlotte to get away from the 100 degree weather, but guess what it was yesterday? 100 degrees!!!! At least it wasn't humid!

And now for the most important thing:

My feet!!!!

I just got back from Schierensee (hope i spelled that right). Its a lake nearby and we went swimming! Not for very long, but at least we got in. And afterwards I ate soooooooooooooo many french fries!!!!!

I found out yesterday (actually i found out in 8th grade, yesterday just reminded me) that I am a TERRIBLE high jumper! My gym class in school is track and field, volleyball, and fitness, so yesterday we high jumped! And like I said, Im TERRIBLE!!!!!! But it was fun!
Today I only had two classes!!!!! And my first one started at 11:45! I love fridays! I can wake up at 10 and still be on time!!! Of course I didnt do that, I woke up at 8:30 instead and had to figured out how to entertain myself for 2 hours before leaving for school. Soooooooo I painted my nails!!!

See!!!!! I dont know if you can tell, but before they were orange-ish and now theyre red. This pic was in my room, and Bo, i know youre jealous that I have an orange carpet! Haha!
Just to keep you updated on my injured body: My buttox still hurts when I sit down, and biking 50 min to and from school everyday doesnt help, and my hand looks worse than it did a couple days ago :( But it doesnt hurt as much :)

My traumatic experience of the day:
So this morning, around 3 am, I woke up and for some reason decided to get out of bed. So I stood up and I could't feel my right leg. So I collapsed... literally. And on my way to the ground, I scraped my buttox on my nightstand, and then tried to catch myself with my right hand. After I got up and woke up my leg, I noticed a very dark spot on my hand. I went into the bathroom, and realized that my hand was bleeding... badly. I tried to find band-aids in the bathroom, but couldnt, so i took a cloth pad that I had for getting nailpolish off, put water on it, held it to my hand, and kept my hand above my heart. Luckily that worked and my hand stopped bleeding but, the pain made sleeping very uncomfortable. This morning I woke up and as I sat down for breakfast, I realized that my buttox really hurt... and it still hurts :( Writing today was also very difficult. And my hand is swollen. I just hope my butt's not swollen :)

So i went to the disco. It was... not bad. I wasnt there for long cause it took forever to get in, but the hour i was there was fun... and loud... and crowded. I forgot my camera so I dont have any pics :(

Tennis this morning!!!! It was sooooo much fun! Dont know why I ever quit! Oh right... marching band :) After tennis we biked (again, my butt hurts so much!) to Friederike's friend's house, and i brushed by nettles, and my arm and hand started stinging and little bumps showed up. Not fun! We went swimming today. And afterwards we went to McDonalds and they had ice in their drinks!!!! Yay American restaurants!!!!!! Went to Phillip, my third host brother's, going away party. He's going to Taiwan for an exchange on Saturday. Phillip's cousin and her friend from England were there, so we spent the whole night talking about the differences between English and American. Did you know they say "swimming costume" instead of "bathing suit"?!?!?!? Silly British!!!!! And for all of you bandies that went to Ireland: they say coach!!!!!!!!!!!

Went to church this morning where Stephanie, my counselor, is Pastor. The service was held outside because there was a festival afterwards! The service was for children, so I understood most of it!!!!!!! Then I went to Friederike's handball game. Handball is an... interesting sport. Just to let you know, my favorite word in German is "wahrscheinlich" it means "probably". Dont ask me why its my favorite. I guess its fun to say! Im sorry that I dont have any pics!

Biked to school for the first time today! Like I think I said before: Im sooooooooooo out of shape! I had gym right before I biked home, so that didn't help either. Tomorrow Im biking again. Hopefully I'll be quicker :)

We went to the sea sun and I got in! It was sooooooooo cold!!!!!!!!!

I started school yesterday. It went well. Ive already made friends, but my schedule is soooooooooo messed up!!!!!!!!!!

I went to Kiel yesterday. We went to the art museum, but it was closing in 20 min so we only saw a part of it.

This is a statue of a man who just killed his wife, and is now killing himself. I found it very.... interesting?

Went to the full moon party at the beach last night! There was reggie band and it was a lot of fun! Around midnight Ulrike and Friederieke's friend's mom told the band that it was my birthday, so they sang a reggie version of Happy Birthday! A german reggie band singing Happy Birthday is very amusing!

So here's what Ive been up to lately:
Ive decided to get in shape while Im here so I went on a run with Ulrike and found out that Im in worse shape then I thought! So Ive been walking everyday since, and my legs hurt! Lately all we've done is watch the Olympics, and I figure that everyone reading this has been watching them to, so I won't ellaborate on them. We went to the Baltic Sea yesterday. They call it the Ostsee here, which means East Sea. I wonder where we got "Baltic" from? We sat in one of those basket chair thingies (if youve seen pics of the Baltic Sea you'll know what Im talking about) and had dinner. Then we played Bocci Ball (Bo, I know you're jealous :) I was pretty good! We didn't swim in the water, but we put our feet in. Its sooooooo cold! Guess What! I have the smallest feet in the family!!!!!!!!! My self-esteem rose 100% when I found out! That's all for now, but tonight were going to a full moon partyon the Baltic Sea, so I'll let you know how that goes tomorrow, or the day after, or the day after that...
